Before we begin, we may request some homework, such as rounding up files, writing down ideas for services or products, or finding copies of print materials we may need to reference, etc. Once all the homework has been turned over to Marketing Maven, we can keep working down the list.

Before delving into the first draft of your new website, we get all our thoughts organized into a detailed site map. This serves as both an outline and a place for us to write the website copy. This helps us organize our thoughts in one place and avoid delays later in the project.

Taking all your design preferences into account, we get to work building the first draft of your new responsive website. This is the step where most of the time is put in. This includes editing or creating graphics as needed, sourcing the appropriate images, writing content, organizing information as concisely as possible, and formatting the site so that it is user-friendly. Our team will send you a preview link to review the new site from a desktop computer and take notes on what you like and what edits you'd like to see.

Once we receive your first round of edits, we will make the necessary updates and then format the mobile version. We edit the mobile version of your website page by page to make sure it looks and functions well on mobile devices. And the last part of this step is optimizing your website's search engine optimization (SEO) for maximum visibility in online searches.

Once we feel confident we've finished the website customizations up to this point, we’ll send you another link to review the site again with a fine-toothed comb. This is the most important part of the process, as you’re now auditing the content AND the function of the site to make sure it works the way you want it to. We want things to be as complete as possible before the site launch, so the more detailed you can be in this final review step, the better. Once it's revised and approved, we'll visit with your team to make a plan for the final steps.

Using a domain name you already own, or a new domain we can purchase for you, we set up your annual hosting plan and connect your domain to the new site. Annual hosting fees from Wix.com are not included in our quoted prices for design time. You should budget $350-450 per year for annual hosting and domain registration fees, depending on the functionality of your website. Once the site is launched, we will index your site with Google and share a helpful guide on how to use Google My Business (a free online listing) to drive traffic to your new website on a regular basis.

Once the website is complete, we will discuss who you prefer to maintain the site in the future. Marketing Maven's team is available to complete future maintenance, edits, and support on an hourly basis (no contract required). But for clients who have internal staff that also want to make edits to the website periodically, we can create a recorded training video your team can reference anytime for just $100 extra.
